Oasis Center

I was given the privilege to work under Daniel Furbish while volunteering at his bike workshop in high school. Outside of my grandfather I am yet to find another more patient person. This Oasis Center program teaches underprivileged youth how to build a bike from the frame up and further incentivizes them by gifting them the very same bike at the end of the program. This six to eight week workshop tests the determination and persistence of Nashville youth and then gifts them with a means of transportation they can have for the rest of their life. I didn’t start Junkdrop with the hopes of donating reusable household commodities, partnering with the Oasis Center and connecting those with too much somehow or another to the Oasis Center was built into the foundation of the company from the start and I couldn’t be more grateful for our relationship. The Oasis Center’s “Rapid Rehousing” program headed by Austin Lewis (another Nashville legend) helps relocate at risk youth ages 18-24 into affordable housing, albeit unfurnished. This is where our donors help those who need it most by offering a mattress to sleep on, a drawer to put their clothes and everything in between. We are all so grateful.
