This Week with the Single Mother Project

At Junkdrop, our purpose goes beyond removing clutter—we’re here to rebuild lives, one donation at a time. Through our Single Mother Project, we’ve committed 2025 to supporting hardworking moms in Nashville who are doing everything they can with very little.

This week, we had the honor of making two special deliveries.

The first went to a mother and her young son who recently moved into stable housing after months of uncertainty. We delivered a couch, kitchen essentials, a small dining table, and toys for her son. She told us, “This is the first time it’s felt like home.” That moment reminded us that sometimes the things people throw away are exactly what someone else needs to start over.

The second drop was for another single mom who preferred to remain private. While we don’t have photos from this stop, we do have impact—dressers, shelves, and a box of linens transformed an empty apartment into a livable space.

Why the Single Mother Project Matters

➤ 1 in 3 families in Tennessee is led by a single mother.

➤ 40% of single moms in the U.S. live below the poverty line.

➤ Most are working full-time and still struggling to afford furniture, transportation, and child care.

When moms don’t have basic household items, it affects everything: stability, safety, sleep, and the ability to parent with confidence.

That’s where you come in.

Here’s How You Can Help:

✔ Donate with Purpose

That old mattress, your extra pots and pans, or your kid’s outgrown clothes? They may seem like junk—but to a struggling mom, they’re gold. Call us. We’ll pick them up, repurpose what we can, and deliver it directly to families in need.

✔ Support Local, Give Local

Unlike big junk companies that dump everything, Junkdrop reinvests into the Nashville community. Every item stays local. Every mile we drive serves someone nearby.

✔ Share the Mission

Not everyone has things to give, but everyone knows someone. Share our posts, tell your friends, or simply follow along. Visibility matters.

✔ Partner With Us

We’re always looking for churches, schools, landlords, and nonprofits to connect us with moms in need. If you know someone who needs a hand—or someone who can lend one—reach out.

We don’t just haul. We heal.

Junkdrop is changing the way Nashville sees “junk”—and this summer, it’s all about moms.

If you’ve got something to give, let us do the lifting.
